Hiking in the national park Rincon de la Vieja
There is a network of trails that will take you to many attractive places in the sector.


Circular the Pailas Trail.

It is the most accessible, has a distance of 3 km, circular, with an estimated time of duration 2 hrs. The main attractive of the trail is the observation of volcanic manifestations (fumaroles, mud pots, pots of water, laguna named, volcancito, among others) with temperatures between 78 ° C to 106 ° C (observe safety rules), passing through wooded areas and open areas, where you can see the transition diameter forest.

The falls Trail

It is linear, it starts to the left of the entrance booth. Cataract La Cangreja is 5 km (10 km in total of roundtrip) and cataract Escondida 4.3 km (8.6 km total of roundtrip), the last trail is of high difficulty, given the rise of the path you need to hike. The estimated time of return is between
4-5 hrs.

Active Crater

The path to the crater is currently closed due to volcanic activity.

Open Tuesday to Sunday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. Closed on Mondays.
